Today we are going to begin our technical writing (expository) unit.
- Watch the technical writing video from last year and discuss
- For the activity today you will need a piece of plain paper and a piece of loose leaf paper
The activity:
- Draw a picture using 2 SQUARES, 1 CIRCLE, 1 TRIANGLE on the plain paper
- On your piece of loose leaf, write step by step direction explaining how to draw your picture, using words only (BE SPECIFIC!- left, right, under, on top, to the left of, 3 inch etc...)
- When you are done you will give your directions to someone else to see how well they can recreate your drawing using your written directions (that person will give you some feedback)
- Critique (if time allows)
