As you reading, keep in mind this is a feature story. A feature story is similar to a news story because is captures the who, what, where, when, and why, but also goes beyond and really gives readers a detailed description about the event. As you're reading, on a piece of loose leaf put a heading:
On one side of the loose leaf WHILE YOU READ:

- Create a flow map the flow the series of events of the article
- Create one box for each bold heading (title the first box-Intro)
- In the box, summarize the section in 1-2 sentences.
One the other side of the loose leaf AFTER YOU READ:
- Describe the who, what, where, when and why (why is it news) of the story
- Share 2 pieces of evidence from the text of when the author gives descriptive details. What are they describing and how?
